    One man is dead following a police-involved shooting . ASIRT is now investigating after a man was killed while police responded to a weapons complaint Sunday night.

    Alberta’s police watchdog is investigating after an Edmonton police officer shot a man Sunday evening.

    Edmonton police say just after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, officers responded to 99 Avenue and 111 Street for reports of a man with a knife approaching people.

    When police arrived, they found a man in the area of 100 Avenue and 111 Street,.

    A confrontation ensued, according to police, and an officer shot the suspect.

    Police say officers administered first aid, but the man died at the scene.

    No EPS officers were injured and a knife was found at the scene, investigators add.

    Alberta’s Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is now investigating the incident.
