Edmonton Public School Board has new Chair

Julie Kusiek was elected Chair of the Edmonton Public School Board (EPSB) by acclamation on Tuesday.

The role was vacated last week when former Chair Trisha Estabrooks announced she was resigning in order to seek the federal NDP nomination for Edmonton Centre. Estabrooks will continue to serve as the Ward D trustee.

Kusiek has been the Ward F trustee since 2021.

She previously volunteered to lead her community league board, the Edmonton Sport Council, and local initiatives such as Thrive YEG and QA Crossroads.
