Former prime minister Stephen Harper is stumping for Premier Danielle Smith in the upcoming Alberta election.

He has recorded a video message that’s being sent to Alberta voters by text.

In it, he warns it took years for Alberta to recover from the last NDP government and says the province can’t risk going backward again.

Smith says she welcomes Harper’s vote of confidence heading into the May election.
