Albertans increasingly uncertain for spring ballot: Poll

By CityNews Staff

A new poll shows that a growing number of Albertans don’t know who they’ll be voting for in the upcoming spring election.

The Abacus survey finds more than one in five voters are undecided, up 6 per cent from February.

That’s an important demographic given how tight the race appears to be.

The biggest shift among undecideds is those who voted UCP in 2019.

The UCP and NDP are tied in both decided voters as well as among leaning voters.

Both parties have seen their support drop slightly overall.

Meanwhile, in the Calgary battleground, it’s a virtual tie.

The NDP’s lead in Edmonton sits at 19 per cent while the UCP hold a 14 per cent edge outside Alberta’s biggest cities.

Alberta’s election is scheduled for Monday, May 29.
