EPS charge three in connection to drug trafficking

Three people have been charged by Edmonton police following a seven-month drug trafficking investigation.

EPS say in September 2021, members of the Drug and Gang Enforcement (EDGE) unit began an investigation after two men were noticed using an apartment to store and process cocaine and methamphetamine.

On March 30, 2022, officers issued a search warrant for a home in St. Albert and another in Edmonton’s McConachie neighbourhood. During the search officers recovered the following items:

  • 2.6 kg of cocaine (worth roughly $208,000);
  • 2 kg of cocaine (worth roughly $160,000), that was hidden in a compartment of a Nissan Murano;
  • Roughly $43,000 in cash;
  • And a variety of drug paraphernalia and items consistent with the sale and distribution of controlled substances.

Since, officers have charged, Jensen Tran, 34, of St. Albert and Steven Lam, 34, and April Goodson, 31, both of Edmonton, with a total of 11 charges relating to drugs and drug trafficking.
