December death near Rogers Place ruled a homicide, Edmonton Police

Edmonton Police want the public’s help in identifying two witnesses and the vehicle they were driving in connection with the homicide of a 36-year-old man last December.

According to police, officers responded to a weapons complaint at a suite near 103 Street and 106 Avenue at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022. When they arrived on the scene, they found a 23-year-old man with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, who was subsequently transported to the hospital.

During their investigation, police were directed to a convenience store near 104 Street and 107 Avenue, where they discovered 36-year-old Ahmed Mohamed in the parking lot suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Mr. Mohamed died on the scene.

An autopsy conducted on Dec. 20 confirmed that Mr. Mohamed’s death was a result of a gunshot wound and was ruled a homicide.

Detectives are now seeking the public’s help in identifying a male and female witness and the vehicle they were driving at the time of the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Edmonton Police Service.
