A pet owner who once took her dogs to Happy Doggie Daycare says she stopped frequenting the business after she lost trust in the groomers.
The south Edmonton pet care business shut down indefinitely, and 21 animals were seized by Animal Care and Control las Friday.

The dog owner, who wished to remain anonymous, says she regularly took her dogs in for grooming.
But at one point she noticed a change in her dogs’ behaviour.
“They would shake uncontrollably, and they would pee themselves when we enter it.”
She also says the dogs were coming home with cuts that eventually turned into infections.
The pet owner says she stopped using their services this summer.
She feels she didn’t do enough to prevent the situation: “I kind of was blind to it.”
“I didn’t advocate for my dogs enough, and that makes me sad,” she added. “We all love our animals, and if I could prevent another animal getting hurt, I should. And I cannot imagine dogs in the daycare, what they have been through, how they suffered.”
10 dogs, 4 cats have yet to be returned to owners
Animal Care and Control hasn’t given specific reasons for the closure but says someone can be charged if there is not adequate food, water, temperature supports, shelter space or ventilation, and care if an animal is wounded.
They did confirm the business voluntarily closed their doors.
Animal Care and Control says 10 dogs and four cars have yet to unite with their owners, though a spokesperson says they believe some of those may belong to the owner of the dog daycare.
Anyone who had their animals at Happy Doggie Daycare is asked to call 3-1-1.
