The autopsy of the teenager who was killed last week outside an Edmonton high school confirmed the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest.
The coroner also confirmed the death was a homicide.
An Edmonton medical examiner completed the autopsy Wednesday of 16-year-old Karanveer Sahota, who was allegedly assaulted by multiple individuals on April 8 while waiting for the bus outside McNally High School.
The teenager died of his injuries April 15 in hospital.
Police officers say they responded to the report of an assault, and say they found the teenager in life-threatening condition.
