Pothole problems: complaints triple in Edmonton to start the year

Are potholes a bigger problem in Edmonton this year than before?

The City of Edmonton says it has received nearly 1,800 complains related to potholes so far in 2022.

That’s three times more than during the same period last year.

Officials say the weather is the main culprit.

Though the number of complaints have gone up, crew have only filled about half as many craters this year versus last.

Again, the city says weather to blame for hampering efforts.

The city adds it has already received many claims from drivers due to pothole damage, but that payout has been low.
