EPS officer charged with impaired driving

A veteran officer with the Edmonton Police Service has been charged with impaired driving.
EPS said in a statement, the incident occurred while the officer was off duty on Sunday, March 6.
“An impaired driver was reported in the area of Yellowhead Trail and Anthony Henday Drive. The driver allegedly struck a guardrail, pole and chain and then left the scene.”
The officer was later apprehended and was charged with impaired driving, driving over the legal limit and failing to stop after an accident.
EPS did not confirm if the officer has been suspended but did say any investigation is underway.
