Alberta RCMP attended a train derailment in the southern part of the province on Wednesday.
Mounties say a Canadian Pacific Rail train derailed around 9:30 a.m. and some empty field cars tipped over near Barons, north of Lethbridge.
Diesel fuel is also said to have been be leaking from a fuel entry point because of the angle of the derailed engine car.
Fire crews, CP Rail and hazardous materials response teams from Calgary arrived on scene and noted no injuries from the derailment.
Traffic was rerouted in the area for much of the day Wednesday and Thursday and is expected to continue through Friday.
