Man shot, killed by police near Cold Lake, ASIRT investigating

COLD LAKE – A man is dead after an RCMP officer opened fire near Cold Lake Sunday.
Police were called around 7 p.m. to the area around Ardmore and began to track the suspect, who they say was running away, when they arrived.
Mounties say there was an altercation between the suspect and officers when an officer pulled the trigger.
While officers did perform medical services, he died on the scene.
A police dog was also hurt but is expected to survive.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is now investigating.
