Another Yellow Vest rally hits Edmonton

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – Another massive rally is planned for Edmonton on Tuesday as the Yellow Vest movement shows its support for the oil and gas industry.
More than 2,000 trucks are expected to hit the Alberta capital starting at 10:30 am.
Rally organizer Jack Graham said this is just a hint of the things to come.
“We’re coming! February 14th, we are leaving Red Deer and we’re coming to Ottawa.”
That plan to have a convoy of trucks drive out to the nation’s capital in February has been in the works for several months.
The protests started in France back in November as a rebuke to higher costs of living, including prices for fuel. Protesters in the European country lamented at the burden of government tax reforms being placed on the working class.
Using the Henday Tuesday, anticipate delays, as truckers with the Stand Up Canada Yellow Vest Pipeline Rally make their way along the road. The convoy will be on the Henday at 10:30 a.m. and last several hrs, using the inside lane only. EPS will be monitoring #yegtraffic #Yeg

The Yellow Vest movement in Canada has had some issues in the past with far-right groups also attaching themselves to the movement. That includes groups like the Soldiers of Odin and Blood and Power. Part of that has to do with the attachment of the U.N. migration pact to these protests.

Back in December, there was a clash between protesters and counterprotesters in Edmonton.
Graham said people should do their research on the movement.
“This is a peaceful movement. We’ve kind of been labelled as radicals and racists. We have people from all races with us.”
