Students at a southeast Edmonton junior high school had the chance to meet Connor McDavid after their school won a draw in a fundraiser. Elliott Knopp reports.

After leaving Nigeria to start a new life in Ukraine, Andrew Obesuyi and his family had to flee after the Russian invasion in 2022. After being split up, the family finally reuniting in Edmonton this fall. 

The chair of Edmonton’s police commission is retiring to Portugal, but says he plans to keep serving as a commissioner for two years. A city councillor and a local lawyer say he should be replaced.

The Labour Minister has asked the Industrial Relations Board to end the national postal strike. Steven Mackinnon says he’s not calling for binding arbitration, but says post service will resume, as the strike goes on “time out”.
