About Lauren

Lauren Boothby is a video journalist with a focus on crime and policing, and has lived in Edmonton since 2020. She returned to Rogers Sports & Media in June 2025 after five years as a daily newspaper reporter for the Edmonton Journal and Edmonton Sun where she was the city hall beat reporter. Before moving to Alberta, she worked as a web editor and radio reporter for Rogers’ 1130 News Radio in Vancouver, with stints at community newspapers in B.C.’s Lower Mainland and Victoria. She moved to Western Canada from her home in Southwestern Ontario in 2016 to study journalism at Langara College in Vancouver. She has a bachelor’s degree from Western University with a double major in criminology and visual arts.
