The Edmonton Elks will open the upper bowl to the public this weekend for the first time since 2023 as the team expects to have the largest crowd of the season.
The team says select sections of the East side of the upper bowl at the Commonwealth Stadium. will be open for fans during Saturday’s game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
After initially opening some seats for season pass holders earlier, the club will open three more sections for the general public starting at noon.
The club says the decision comes after having already sold 26,000 tickets as of Friday morning. Nearly 1,900 tickets have been sold every day this week and is expected to surpass last year’s high of 30,053.
The Play Alberta Field at Commonwealth Stadium upper bowl was originally closed for the 2024 season.
