$93K of methamphetamine, other contraband seized at Edmonton Institution

Contraband, including methamphetamine, worth an “institutional value” of $93,000 was seized at Edmonton Institution earlier this month.

Correctional Services of Canada says the packages of unauthorized items were seized April 10 “as a result of the vigilance of staff members.”

The maximum-security federal institution is investigating, and police have been notified.

The CSC says it has several tools in place to prevent drugs from entering prisons, including ion scanners and drug-detector dogs.
