2nd degree murder charge laid over death of man in West Edmonton apartment

Edmonton Police have charged a man in relation to a suspicious death that took place last week.

On Friday, shortly after midnight, officers responded to reports of a fight at a home near 81 Avenue and Briarwynd Court. Upon arrival, police located 33-year-old Theoren Ermineskin, fatally injured. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased on scene.

On the same day, police arrested Damian Ward, 35, and charged him with second degree murder.

An autopsy on Tuesday found the victim died of blunt force injuries.

Police say the victim and the accused knew each other.
