A northern Alberta band says their van was broken into and robbed in Edmonton’s Lendrum neighbourhood on Tuesday.
The rock band called Soul Smash says two guitars and a pa system were stolen. The stolen goods have an estimated total value of about $6,000 dollars.
“You know, it doesn’t matter if they cost $1,000 or $5,000 each,” said Kinely Paul, bassist for Soul Smash. “They’re some that we have a pretty deep attachment with that money can’t really make up for.”
The band is in town for an upcoming show on Sunday. Paul says they’re renting equipment for the rest of their tour but those instruments carry sentimental value.
“You’ll pick through thousands of instruments and find one you like, even if they’re the exact same model, it’s a very special thing,” said Paul.
The band says they have filed a police report and they don’t expect the loss to be covered by their insurance. CityNews has reached out to EPS, but they were unable to comment by broadcast deadline.
