Edmonton radio personality Robbi the Intern and his friend are lacing up for a long walk in support of MS Canada.
The voice at Kiss 91.7, CityNews’ sister station, and his friend Terry McCormick are walking from Devon to Fort Saskatchewan.
“It seems a bit crazy,” Robbi told CityNews.
The walk is approximately 120 kilometres and will take three to four days to complete.
“We’re gonna sleep in our tents,” said McCormick. “We’re having our tents rendez-vous’d to us.
“A couple of backyards have been offered to us,” he added, laughing. “So seeking that option.”
Robbi says the goal is to raise a couple thousands of dollars for multiple sclerosis research.
“Any bit helps,” he said. “As much as we can. There’s no limit.”
In Canada, about 90,000 people live with MS, one of the highest rates of the disease worldwide.
Robbi is asking people to donate online to Burgers to Beat MS campaign Thursday for a chance to win A&W’s teen burgers for a full year.

“Just hearing the amount of listeners we have who reached out and thanked us for getting involved, it just kinda blew me away to figure out how many people are actually impacted by this,” Robbi said.
Meredith Bongers, MS Canada’s senior director of Western Canada, says “creative initiatives” such as Robbi’s can create lasting impacts for the community.
“It’s really powerful and inspiring to see Robbi take this challenge,” she said. “And then to watch the greater Edmonton region come together to support Burgers to Beat MS.”
In addition to online donations, people will also have to guess how many steps Robbi has put in after completing his walk from Devon to Fort Saskatchewan.
“No hints,” he said, laughing. “I wish I could update you on how many steps have been so far, but that’d be cheating.
“We’re gonna wait until the end to give any hints.”
