Edmonton police make public appeal in search for driver of Aug. 31 hit-and-run

Edmonton police are calling on the public for assistance to identify the driver of a hit-and-run that happened on Aug. 31.

In a release on Sept. 1, the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) said officers responded to 96 Street and 115 Avenue after receiving a report that a woman who was skateboarding was hit by a car as she crossed 115 Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the 24-year-old woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital by EMS and is in critical but stable condition.

This is the second time EPS has called for assistance in the investigation.

Police are urging the public to “review dash cam or security camera footage they might have for Thursday, August 31, 2023, between 9 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., from 92 Street and 95 Street, and between 115 Avenue and 111 Avenue.”

The vehicle in the hit-and-run has been described as a dark grey pickup truck or SUV.
