Homicide police investigating 18-month-old girl’s death in northwest Edmonton

Homicide detectives are investigating the “suspicious” death of an 18-month-old girl in northwest Edmonton.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) says officers responded to a home at 130 Avenue and 105 Street, in the Lauderdale neighbourhood, Tuesday around noon.

The child was reportedly in medical distress.

Upon arrival, EMS declared the child deceased at the home.

Police say the circumstances surrounding the death are suspicious.

An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday morning.
