Alberta NDP sworn into office

NDP leader Rachel Notley believes her party will be the most effective opposition in Alberta history.
Notley and 35 NDP MLA’s were sworn in on Monday.
Two others are waiting judicial court challenges from the UCP.
The NDP claimed 38 out of 87 seats on election night – giving them the largest caucus for the provincial runner-up.
Notley says the larger number will make it easier to hold the government to task and push for transparency.
While Notley says she’ll name her cabinet critics later this week, she remains mum on her long-term status as party leader.
“As I said I will continue to deliberate on this issue and I will happily let you know my plans when I’ve made those decisions,” said Notley.
