By News Staff

Police say a 35-year-old semi truck driver from Calgary was killed in a collision north of Edmonton Tuesday afternoon.

Westlock RCMP say the two-vehicle collision involving a semi truck and a Ford F150 happened at Highway 44 and Highway 661 shortly before 3 p.m.

Investigators believe the semi truck was southbound on Highway 44 when the westbound F150 entered the intersection at Highway 661.

“Both vehicles collided, causing the semi truck and trailer to roll,” Westlock RCMP said in a news release.

The Calgary man was declared dead on scene. The driver of the Ford F150 was not injured.

RCMP are investigating.

Westlock is about 90 kilometres north of Edmonton.
