The autopsies on the two Edmonton police officers killed in the line of duty last week confirmed they died of gunshot wounds.
On Saturday the office of the chief medical examiner conducted autopsies on Const. Brett Ryan and Const. Travis Jordan.
The autopsies determined the manner of death was homicide in both cases.
The officers were gunned down Thursday by a 16-year-old while they were responding to a reportedly non-violent domestic dispute at an apartment building.
The suspect is believed to have subsequently shot and injured his mother before turning the weapon on himself. The mother remains in hospital.

In a brief update Sunday, Edmonton police said “information on the public portion of the funeral arrangements for the fallen officers will be released by EPS as soon as it becomes available.”
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says the families of Ryan and Jordan are each to receive $100,000 from the province’s Heroes’ Fund.
Smith also encouraged people to donate to a GoFundMe for the families of the officers, which has been set up by the Edmonton Police Foundation.
