2 men facing 102 charges after Edmonton drug bust

A recent drug bust saw 3 Edmonton homes raided, including one in Glenora where a 2-year-old child was found. As Carly Robinson explains, a number of firearms were also found including a 3D printed handgun.

Edmonton police say an investigation into drug trafficking that began in July, has led to two men facing 102 charges.

Officers say they were were able to determine that two men were using a vacant home in the Glenora neighbourhood to hide drugs and guns.

They add officers issued a search warrant for the home as well as another home in Cameron Heights in November 2022, when they found the following:

  • 8.5 kg of cocaine (worth roughly $585,000)
  • Over 11,000 Xanax pills (worth roughly $234,000)
  • More than 250 oyxcodone pills (worth roughly $7,100)
  • Psilocybin (worth roughly $1,800)
  • Cannabis gummies (worth roughly $5,000)
  • 24 kg cocaine buffing agent (worth roughly $96,000)
  • Approximately $3,100 in cash
  • 8 handguns
  • Numerous high-capacity magazines with over 1400 rounds of ammunition

EPS noted two of the guns, have been listed as stolen, and another two are believed to have been smuggled into the country.

One of the guns has also been linked to a shooting in west Edmonton.

On Feb. 2 and Feb. 7, officers took a 34-year-old person and Adam Salah Johma, 53, into custody. Both have been charged with a combined total of 102 charges relating to drugs and guns.

Other charges

EPS along with RCMP in north Battleford, Sask. also issued a search warrant at a home in the Glenora neighbourhood.

Officers say during the search, a two-year-old was found living in the home alongside the drug trafficking taking place.

The 34-year-old who was linked to the drug bust along with 59-year-old Robert Trach, of north Battleford, Sask., have both been charged with additional drug trafficking-related charges.

Police add the 34-year-old is also facing 27 more charges in relation to child endangerment, arson, and obstructing a peace officer.

They have not been named to protect the identity of the child.
