Woman charged in murder of Audrey Corcoran

EDMONTON – Edmonton police have laid murder charges in connection to the death of 33-year-old Audrey Corcoran.

Around 2:15 a.m. on Monday, July 13, police were called to a weapons complaint in Kensington.

First responders found the Corcoran suffering from a stab wound and rushed her to the hospital.

She eventually died from her injuries on July 19.

Police had initially charged Ashely Courterielle, 38, with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.

But since Corcoran passed away, investigators upgraded the charges to second-degree murder.

Courterielle is also facing a charge of assault with a weapon for injuries to a bystander who attempted to intervene in the attack.
