Country music star Riley Green to play Grey Cup halftime show in Calgary; Sarah McLachlan to sing national anthem

American country music star Riley Green is set to perform at the halftime show of this year’s Grey Cup, while Canadian icon Sarah McLachlan will sing the national anthem.
The Canadian Football League says McLachlan will perform while Canadian Forces Snowbirds return for their last official flypast before the fleet retires.
Meanwhile, Green has seen huge success on the country music scene recently, taking home top honours at last year’s Country Music Association Awards, including song of the year and single of the year for his duet with Ella Langley, “You Look Like You Love Me.”
He’s also a coach on the American singing competition TV show “The Voice.”
A special guest performance is expected from Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor of Blue Rodeo. The Canadian rock band recently rallied patriotic sentiment with their song “Hasn’t Hit Me Yet,” which references Lake Ontario.
Country music group James Barker Band will also perform as part of the pre-game festivities.
The Grey Cup is scheduled for Nov. 15 at Calgary’s McMahon Stadium.
