66-year-old man identified as victim in fatal crash east of Edmonton

Police have shared some information about the victim of a fatal highway crash east of Edmonton Saturday night.
Strathcona County RCMP say a 66-year-old man from Gibbons died in hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries in the four-vehicle collision.
Mounties say four pickup trucks collided on Highway 16 between Range Road 220 and 221 around 9 p.m. – three were going west and one was going east.
Authorities say the drivers and occupants of the three westbound pickup trucks sustained minor injuries, though one of them was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The man who died was in the eastbound vehicle.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The crash closed a section of the highway — about 20 minutes east of Edmonton – late into the evening.
