Alberta man’s body recovered from northern Manitoba river

Authorities have recovered the body of an Alberta man who is believed to have drowned while fishing in Kelsey, Man., northeast of Thompson, last month.
Thompson Rural RCMP say the body of James Redmond, 60, was found near the shore at the Kelsey Dam on Sept. 1 – four weeks after he was reported missing on Aug. 3.

His death is not considered suspicious.
Redmond was found by Dominion Divers and the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART).
When Mounties were called on Aug. 3, they learned Redmond had gone fishing from the shore of the Nelson River.
A search along the shoreline near his cabin uncovered some of his gear, roughly 200 metres upstream from the dam at Kelsey Generating Station. Police believe that may be where Redmond entered the river.
