Edmonton police investigate reports of explosion at vacant west end home

Edmonton police are investigating reports of an explosion at a home in the city’s Jasper Place neighbourhood on Thursday afternoon.

The Edmonton Police Service says no injuries were reported to them in the possible explosion at the home on 102 Avenue and 155 Street.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services tells CityNews “multiple callers reported hearing an explosion.”

They also say the home was vacant.

EFRS was called to the home around 12:30 p.m. because of a fire, with seven units on scene by mid-afternoon. The blaze was declared under control by 2:22 p.m.
