City crews prepare as wind warning issued in Edmonton

With Edmonton under a wind warning, city crews are preparing to clean up more fallen trees and branches from roads and sidewalks.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued a warning early Sunday morning saying up to gusts of up to 90 km/h are expected.

With recent heavy rainfall and saturated soils, trees may be more vulnerable to damage.. and there is risk of property damage.

However, in a social media statement, the City says forestry crews, contractors and support crews are working across the city and ready to respond and will prioritize safety-critical calls first.
