Edmonton, central Alberta under orange level rainfall warning, flooding may occur

The City of Edmonton and parts of central Alberta are under an orange-level rainfall warning.
Environment Canada says heavy rain is expected to bring 40 to 70 mm over the weekend.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday evening will be followed by heavy rain on Saturday morning, before the rain increases throughout the day.
Meteorologists warn that with the ground already saturated from the storm this past weekend and rainfall totals for the month of June well above normal, additional rain is likely to cause overland flooding, washouts, and impacts to infrastructure and property.
