Police seek driver in hit-and-run that injured boy in Parkland County

Police west of Edmonton are looking for the driver of a vehicle after a boy was injured in a hit-and-run Sunday night.

Parkland RCMP say officers were called to Larrys Road near Range Road 15 in Parkland County at 11:13 p.m.

Investigators say they determined a vehicle – an older, dark colour Chevrolet pickup with a grey canopy and a burnt-out headlight – was travelling down the gravel road sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. when it hit the youth and fled the scene.

The boy was located on the road, assessed and treated by paramedics for injuries.

“Those involved may be scared; however, fleeing the scene and leaving a victim behind is egregious and unacceptable,” Const. Constable Butcher of the Parkland RCMP. “We urge those involved to turn themselves in to the RCMP.”

Any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam video are asked to contact police at 825-220-7267.
