Alberta legislature grounds reflecting pool closed due to leak

The reflecting pool outside the Albert legislature building is closed due to a leak just a year after renovation.

The pool re-opened in May 2025 after it had been closed for five years for refurbishment.

In a statement to CityNews, a spokesperson for Alberta Infrastructure said that the pool is expected be partially operational in the first week of June.

“Inspections are underway, and a longer-term solution is being developed based on the conclusions of the findings (once complete),” the spokesperson said. “Other water features on the grounds surrounding the Reflecting Pool remain fully operational.”
