Edmonton’s Jan Reimer Park closed for prescribed burn Monday

Edmonton’s Jan Reimer Park is slated to temporarily close on Monday.

In a news release, the City says crews will be conducting a prescribed burn, good weather permitting. There may be visible smoke in the area from the mid-morning until late afternoon.

The Terwillegar Park Footbridge will also be closed.

The burn is to spread across 19 hectares of grassland to aid in wildfire prevention, and the City says it will be monitoring and working to minimize the impacts.
