Edmonton police seek public help in identifying suspect in Clareview shooting

Edmonton police (EPS) are asking for public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a shooting incident in the Clareview neighbourhood in April.

EPS received a 911 call on April 5, around 5 a.m., regarding gunshots being fired near a schoolyard in the area of 133 Avenue and Clareview Road.

“It was reported to police that one shot struck a nearby home, entering a bedroom and narrowly missing a young child who was sleeping at the time,” EPS said in a press release Friday.

Police say they do not believe that the home was the target.

Investigators believe a suspect fired the shots after a brief meeting with someone in an unidentified vehicle.

EPS investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting, the suspect, or the vehicle to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.

Anonymous information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online
