Police say one person was injured in a crash in southwest Edmonton on Monday morning that saw a car flip upside down and an SUV sustain serious frontal damage.
The Edmonton Police Service says it was called about the two-vehicle collision on Terwillegar Drive and 23 Avenue around 8:37 a.m.
Police say the woman driving one of the vehicles was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It’s not clear if the woman was behind the wheel of the car or the SUV.
There were no other reported injuries, according to EPS.

CityNews was at the scene before 10 a.m. A damaged white SUV could be seen in the middle of the intersection; a child’s car seat was next to it, on the road. Several metres away was the upside down car.
Edmonton police’s collision investigation team was on the scene, with other officers directing traffic. Both the east and westbound lanes were closed to vehicles, and motorists were asked to seek different routes.
Police are continuing to investigate.
