Edmonton police lay murder charges in 2024 killing of wanted man

Police say two men are facing murder charges in the killing of a man in Edmonton in 2024.

The Edmonton Police Service says the suspects, aged 25 and 29, were arrested in connection with the death of Jordan Belhumeur, who was 37.

Both are facing second-degree murder charges.

In the early hours of May 27, 2024, Edmonton police officers responded to a weapons complaint at 127 Avenue and 118 Street, where they found Belhumeur with a serious injury. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

An autopsy determined he died of a gunshot wound.

Two months before his death, Edmonton police had turned to the public for help in locating Belhumeur, who was wanted on several warrants including assault causing bodily harm, robbery, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and intimidation.

He was also wanted on a Canada-wide apprehension and suspension warrant for a parole violation.

Authorities said at the time he was believed to be violent and dangerous.

An obituary for him indicated he was the father of two sons.

The two men charged in his death are Tristan Dylan Green and Dorian Gladue Thomas. Green was arrested Feb. 4 while Thomas was arrested Sunday.

The allegations against them have not been tested in court.
