Edmonton firefighters have been working to put out a fire at the now-closed Jasper Place Hotel on Stony Plain Road since early Thursday morning.

Seven Edmonton Fire Rescue Services firefighting crews were at the hotel in Edmonton’s west end trying to get the flames under control.

The first firefighters arrived on scene at 5:18 a.m., EFRS tells CityNews.

Edmonton Police Service officers were also in the area providing traffic control support.

The well-known Jasper Place Hotel closed after a fire right before Christmas 2019, and has been vacant ever since.
