Mounties in Saskatchewan say a 41-year-old Edmonton woman was stopped on the highway last week and was found with four kilograms of what’s believed to be cocaine.
Saskatchewan RCMP say the woman’s car was stopped Thursday on Highway 16 near Maidstone for a vehicle equipment regulations violation.
Authorities say the driver was arrested after “further police investigation.”
“A search of the vehicle took place and RCMP officers located and seized approximately four kilograms of suspected cocaine,” Mounties alleged in a news release.
Leanne Harcourt was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking; and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. The allegations have not been tested in court.
She is scheduled to appear in court on March 9.
