West Edmonton rowhouse evacuated after fire breaks out

A fire at a rowhouse in west Edmonton’s Britannia Youngstown neighbourhood Thursday morning forced the evacuation of all residents.

Edmonton fire crews told CityNews no injuries were reported after the fire broke out in the area of 102b Avenue and 166 Street.

Crews were first called at 9:52 a.m. and arrived five minutes later to a fully involved fire. Eight crews were on scene and continued to work to get the fire out by the afternoon.

EFRS says the fire was declared under control at 11:02 a.m.
