Edmonton police still looking for escaped convict

Police are still for a man convicted of manslaughter who escaped from a minimum-security facility in Edmonton on New Year’s Day.

The Edmonton Police Service is asking for the public’s help in locating 33-year-old Shelby Crane.

The convict, who is serving a 10-year-and-a-half sentence for manslaughter, escaped from the Stan Daniels Healing Centre in the early hours of Jan. 1.

Correctional Services Canada reported Crane missing that same day. Police were advised of the escape and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Crane is described as six-foot-two, weighing 241 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair. He has several tattoos on his body, including:

  • Right forearm: Crook and Castle logo, Madusa
  • Right hand: “Marlene”
  • Right upper arm: “Marilyn,” “Mya”
  • Left upper arm: Flower-themed sleeve, a lotus, and “Makale”
  • Left hand: “S”
  • Left wrist: Cross
