Alberta RCMP say a 30-year-old man has been charged for trafficking drugs south of Edmonton.
Mounties began an investigation into a repeat offender in September, which was supposed to see if they were following their 18-month Community Sentence Order (CSO) and Release Order.
Between September and December, Mounties were able to observe the man breaching conditions on multiple occasions, which led to the man’s arrest on Dec. 17.
At the time of the arrest, police reportedly noticed drug paraphernalia inside the man’s vehicle, and were able to get a search warrant for that vehicle and a holiday trailer.
During the search, police were able to find and seize $8,269 in cash, around 171 grams of methamphetamine, 7.1 grams of cocaine, and 40 ml of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB).

Due to this, Mounties have since charged 30-year-old Daniel Golub with several drug possession charges, resisting a peace officer, failing to comply with a release order, and breach of a CSO. He is expected to appear in court on Dec. 19.
“Repeat offenders who continue to disregard court orders and engage in drug trafficking will be a priority for Wetaskiwin RCMP,” said Cpl. Learn of the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit. “We will continue to use all available resources and work collaboratively with our district and specialized units to target those who pose a risk to community safety.”
