Fort Saskatchewan: pair arrested after reported gun incident now facing theft, drug-related charges

A man and woman are facing numerous charges after RCMP officers found them in a stolen vehicle containing drugs and stolen property.

The arrests followed a complaint made around 12:46 p.m. on Tuesday, when witnesses reported that the pair had allegedly pointed a firearm at someone from their vehicle.

Police located the suspects in the parking lot of a local business and arrested them without incident.

A search of the vehicle uncovered more than 20 grams of methamphetamine, along with stolen tools, a lock-picking kit, body armour, radios, handcuffs, and other equipment.

The 34-year-old Edmonton man is now accused of a range of offences, including vehicle theft, multiple counts of theft under $5,000, possessing break-in tools, uttering threats, breaching firearm prohibitions, possessing illicit identity documents, and trafficking methamphetamine, as well as unlawfully possessing body armour.

The 28-year-old woman faces charges related to vehicle theft, theft under $5,000, possession of break-in tools and body armour, along with driving while prohibited.

She has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 8, while the man remains in custody.
