Edmonton police investigating hit and run of pedestrian in McConachie neighbourhood

Police are looking for a grey minivan or SUV involved in the hit and run of a pedestrian in northeast Edmonton late last month.

The Edmonton Police Service says a 32-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while crossing McConachie Boulevard and 62 Street – in the McConachie neighbourhood – sometime between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Oct. 30.

“The driver of the vehicle briefly stopped to speak to the injured male before leaving the scene,” police said in a news release.

Authorities say the victim was hospitalized with serious injuries. He has since been released.

The EPS major collisions investigations section (MCIS) is investigating.

Witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage is asked to call police at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
