Edmonton man charged in Alberta-Sask. drug trafficking investigation

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) says a 32-year-old Edmonton man has been charged in connection with drug trafficking in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

ALERT says they, along with the RCMP in St. Albert, Swift Current, and the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatchewan Trafficking and Response Team (STRT) executed search warrants at homes in Edmonton, St. Albert, and Swift Current on Oct. 21.

During the searches, police were able to find and seize 1,850 grams of cocaine, 192 grams of a suspected cocaine buffing agent, four grams of fentanyl, and $24,340 cash.

“Drug trafficking transcends borders and impacts all communities. In this case, we were able to share criminal intelligence cross-province and make arrests,” said Staff Sergeant Rich Dejong, ALERT.

As a result of the searches, police took two people into custody in Alberta, but no charges have been laid.

Additionally, 32-year-old Tristian Humeniuk-Francis from Edmonton was taken into custody in Saskatchewan, and has been charged with multiple drug-related offences.

ALERT says their investigation dates back to May 2025, after they developed criminal intelligence concerning suspected drug trafficking activity. They note the investigation is ongoing.
