Alberta RCMP say a 36-year-old man has been charged in connection to a fatal two-vehicle collision on July 1.
On July 1, Mounties responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 2A, just south of Wetaskiwin.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found two people trapped inside one of the vehicles, which was on fire.
The officers were unable to remove the 61-year-old man and 64-year-old woman who were trapped, and both died at the scene.
An investigation of the collision has since led Mounties to laying charges against 36-year-old Terrance Buffalo of Maskwacis, Alberta.
Buffalo has since been charged with two counts of impaired operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm and two counts of impaired operation of a conveyance causing death.
