Two arrested in connection with series of vape store robberies in Edmonton

Edmonton police have arrested and charged two men they believe are responsible for a string of vape store robberies that occurred across the city over the past two months.

Between Sept. 8 and Oct. 4 this year, officers responded to four reports of robberies at vape stores across the city and one arson, according to a news release from EPS on Wednesday. Two of the robberies allegedly involved two masked men who used firearms to steal cash and vape products on Sept. 8 and Sept. 17.

On Sept. 22, it was reported to police that two masked males drove a vehicle through the storefront and started a fire at the vape store that was previously robbed on Sept. 8.

Police say there were two other vape store robberies reported at separate locations on Oct. 1 and Oct. 4.

No injuries were reported.

Police say around $400,000 worth of damage was caused on Sept. 22, and they estimate more than $10,000 worth of cash and vape products combined were stolen.

Two male suspects were arrested on Oct. 6. Joshua Sweeney, 30, and Gerard Pariseau, 30, were charged with numerous criminal offences, including robbery, wearing a disguise and use of a firearm during the commission of an offence.
