Edmonton police looking for possible sexual assault victims

Edmonton Police are looking for additional complainants in a sexual assault that occurred at the Jasper Place Transit Centre on Sept. 29.

At approximately 7:49 a.m. police were called to the Jasper Place transit terminal on Stony Plain Road for a sexual assault.

It was reported to police that a 40-year-old man had approached a woman asking to shake his hand and give him a hug. When the woman refused, he continued to make attempts to touch her. A woman bystander intervened, and the man began to shout at her. The man then approached a young girl and pushed himself into her, attempting to kiss her, before the bystander intervened again.

Transit Peace Officers were able to detain the man until police arrived.

Fabien Sandypoint, 40, is charged with, assault, sexual assault and obstruction and is currently in custody.
